Celebrate International Women’s Day in Scarborough Southwest


You’re invited to celebrate International Women’s Day with special guest & keynote speaker Shirley Douglas (Canadian actress, advocate for public healthcare and social justice activist)

WHERE: Access Point on Danforth (3079 Danforth Avenue, south east corner of Victoria Park and Danforth)

WHEN: Saturday March 8, 2014 — 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

(Doors open 12:00 p.m., Program begins 12:30 p.m.,  Keynote address 1:00 p.m.)
 This FREE event will also feature: 

local, cultural entertainment; a short film on IWD celebrations around the world; information on local services for women; sharing of stories from local women and their experiences; yoga and stress management information; light refreshments will be served

This family-friendly event is a collaboration with many community members and the following organizations:

By now, Canadians were supposed to have learned of the Conservative government’s decision whether to allow a state-controlled foreign company to buy one of Canada’s largest energy producers. Let me remind you, 70% of Canadians have serious concerns about this deal. Serious concerns about Canada’s national security, our energy security, environmental standards and even job concerns.
